It’s finally starting to feel like winter down here in Eastern NC, and we’ve gotten some snow this past weekend. If you’re like us, you enjoy the great outdoors during all seasons. The winter time and the snow that comes with it provides opportunities for some snow time fun. Here are some of our favorite snow day activities:
- Snowball fights with your campground neighbors
- Building a snowman with the kids
- Cuddling up around the fire pit and making s’mores
- Taking a nature walk through the snow
- Making snow angels
- Drinking hot cocoa after being out in the cold
If you do decide to get out there and enjoy this snow, make sure to practice caution. Wear weather appropriate clothes and shoes with good traction.
It’s a good idea to avoid the roads when it’s snowing, especially if you’re driving an RV. So, if you get snowed in while staying in your RV, be sure to stay warm. Here are some tips to help you stay warm in your RV this winter:
- Use a space heater, but only when you’re awake and can monitor it
- Install thick curtains around all of the windows
- Place an RV skirt around the bottom of your RV
When you’re traveling in your RV during cold weather, be sure to always have extra food on supply as well as a good supply of antifreeze.
