Spring is the perfect time to go camping, whether that’s in your RV or in a tent. With its mild temperatures and sunny days, the weather doesn’t get much better. However, if you suffer from seasonal allergies, you’re all too aware that spring also has an ugly side: POLLEN— that yellow dust that seems to cut anything and everything in North Carolina around this time of year.
Don’t let seasonal allergies and all that pollen force you to stay inside this spring. Follow some of these tips to make your camping trip to Eastern NC more enjoyable this year:
- After you’ve been outside, be sure to take a shower. Pollen can find its way into your hair and onto your clothes. So, a shower and a fresh set of clothes can go a long way with helping alleviate your allergies.
- If you’re sleeping in a tent, try to keep your tent flaps closed as much as possible to keep the pollen out. Dust off your sleeping bags before heading to bed.
- If you’re staying in an RV, try to keep your doors and windows closed as much as you can so pollen won’t find its way inside.
- If you plan on using a tent, buy a hypoallergenic one, which will help to prevent your allergies from getting out of control while you’re camping.
- Clean your tent or RV at regular intervals to get rid of any pollen you may have tracked in.
- Take your shoes off before you enter your RV or tent.
- Don’t forget to pack your allergy medicine!
Spring is beautiful, but allergies are a pain. Don’t let the pollen get the best of you. You can still head outdoors and enjoy this beautiful weather! Come to see us this spring at Long Creek RV Park in Eastern NC!
